Pupils do not do paid work in their first nine months of pupillage. Once the tenancy decision has been taken, successful pupils will start to build their own practice, with the help of Quadrant’s clerking team, and will see their earnings develop rapidly. Pupils retain all their earnings from this work, with no resulting reduction in their pupillage award. Chambers’ expenses are not payable on any earnings in the final three months of pupillage.
